The single touch that brings back drifted clients
Birthday outreach is one of the highest-conversion touches in spa marketing — if it’s done well. Most spas send a generic “happy birthday, here’s 15% off” the morning of the birthday and wonder why redemption is below 5%. This module is engineered to actually convert.
The sequence that works
7 days before
“Your birthday’s coming up — we’d love to spoil you. Here’s a free [signature treatment add-on] when you book any service this month. No code needed, just book.”
Day of
“Happy birthday, [first name]! Your treat is waiting — book any service this birthday month to claim it.”
Day 21 of birthday month (if not yet booked)
“Last week to claim your birthday treat — book before [end of month].” Soft urgency, not pushy.
Anniversary touches
The system also tracks “client anniversary” — the date of the first appointment. Annual outreach: “Can you believe it’s been a year since your first visit? Here’s a 20% off your next service as a thank-you for being part of our studio.” Often catches clients who have drifted away over 14–18 months.
Why birthday redemption rates climb to 22–35%
- Time window matters. A 30-day window is far better than a 7-day “birthday weekend” offer.
- Free add-on vs. percent off. “Free 15-minute hand massage with any treatment” outperforms “15% off” because the value feels more tangible.
- Repeated touches. A single text on the day of has a 6% redemption rate. A 3-touch sequence has 24%+.
What gets tracked
Every birthday/anniversary offer issued, redeemed, or expired is logged. The studio owner sees: redemption rate by client tenure, by service, by month. Slow months ramp up because of the birthday boost; busy months use the same boost differently.
